WeekendCalc is a collection of free calculators for home improvement, landscaping and DIY projects. The goal is simple: tell you how much material to buy, in the units the store actually sells it in, without a signup, a popup, or a wall of filler text.
How the calculators work
Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to us. Each page explains its formula and assumptions in plain language, and shows a worked example, so you can check the math yourself or do it by hand if you prefer.
Where a figure is a rule of thumb rather than a physical constant (for example, how many square feet a gallon of paint covers), we say so, and we let you change it. Product labels always win over our defaults.
How the site pays for itself
WeekendCalc is free to use. It earns money from display advertising and from affiliate links to tools and materials related to the project you are calculating. If you buy through an Amazon link, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked, and they never change a calculator result.
Accuracy
We test each calculator against hand calculations and published product data. Even so, results are estimates for planning, not engineering or professional advice. See the terms & disclaimer. If you spot a mistake, please tell us; corrections are made quickly.
