This policy explains what information is collected when you use the UK edition of WeekendCalc, how it is used, and the choices you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What we collect
Calculator inputs. The measurements and values you enter into a calculator are processed in your browser. They are not transmitted to or stored by us.
Your project list. If you press “Save to my list”, the saved results are kept in your own browser's local storage so that the project list page can show them. They are never sent to us, and you can remove them from that page or by clearing your browser data.
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically records standard request information such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security and operations.
Contact form. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you submit, and use them only to reply.
Cookies, advertising and your consent
We may show ads served by Google AdSense and similar partners. These partners can set cookies or use similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR, non-essential cookies and personalised advertising need your consent. Where an ad partner asks for it, you will be offered a consent choice, and you can change or withdraw it at any time. Ads that are not personalised may still be shown if you decline.
You can also manage personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings or Your Online Choices, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Affiliate links
Some links on UK pages go to www.amazon.co.uk and other retailers. When you click one, the retailer may set a cookie so that a purchase can be credited to us. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This costs you nothing extra.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to its use, and withdraw consent you have given. The only personal data we hold is what you send through the contact form and the standard server logs described above. To use any of these rights, write to us through the contact page. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Third-party sites
We link to other websites and are not responsible for their privacy practices.
